Marketta Martola-Suominen

I have 15 years of work experience in supporting businesses in energy, telecommunication, and IT industries. In Fondia, I advise clients on topics related to technology agreements, digitalization, data protection, cyber security, IPR and corporate law.

Before joining Fondia in 2023, I was an IT Sourcing Manager in a globally acknowledged, stock-listed energy company in the renewable fuels and circular solutions business. During this time, I delved into purchases of complicated SaaS-services, Cyber Security services and licenses, just to name a few. Prior to taking this role, I worked for over a decade in the ICT sector as a Senior Legal Counsel for a reputable Finnish teleoperator and later as their IT Sourcing Manager. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with a very broad variety of commercial agreements, privacy and legal and tech-related matters. My legal career started as a Legal Counsel in a stock-listed software integrator that specializes in, e.g., demanding customized software deliveries and ERP solutions.

Working in both strictly legal roles as well as in more commercial roles in close partnership with business stakeholders, has given me a lot of versatility, pragmatism and cross-function insights that amplify my legal professionalism for added customer value. I can successfully represent both the interests of a customer as well as those of a supplier in any technology related transactions.

In my leisure time, I devote most of my time for my family and friends, and I am an enthusiastic reader of non-fiction books using all the time I can spare for reading.
