Tiina Kangas
I am a seasoned public sector legal professional with an expertise in data protection, criminal law and EU policy. My career began in Finland’s ministerial corridors and as a district prosecutor, laying a strong foundation in criminal justice after which I moved to Brussels to work for the Council of the European Union. One of the highlights of my career was participating in the GDPR negotiations while working at Finland's Permanent Representation to the EU.
Back in Finland, I’ve held key roles as a Data Protection Officer for the City of Helsinki and Tampere University and served as a research lawyer at HUS. Most recently, I worked at PrivacyDesigner, where I focused on business development at the intersection of emerging technologies.
I have been practicing yoga for decades, and early in the morning you can often find me at the Ashtanga Yoga School in Helsinki.
