I joined Fondia’s team in August 2017 after serving almost 20 years as a legal counsel mostly in banking with SEB in Estonia and with Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) in Finland. After relocating back to Estonia in 2015, I decided to try my hand in legal counseling first with Deloitte Legal law firm.
At Fondia, one of my main roles is to act as a general counsel for our LDaaS customers by managing and coordinating their legal affairs, often cross-border. Besides that, I advise clients on various legal issues pertaining to everyday business, such as corporate law, commercial contracts, employment law as well as leading and carrying out M&A projects, from DDs until execution of the transactions. During my earlier career in the banking sector, I have also gained extensive experience in banking regulation, financing transactions and collaterals, consumer contracts, but also in data protection.
I have always favored a pro-active and no-fuss problem-solving approach taking into account the client’s business specifics and objectives. I also believe that having had a quite lengthy in-house counsel’s experience helps me to pinpoint to the most important legal issues and risks related to the client’s business.
My leisure time is spent mostly with my family, consisting besides me of five male members, two of them being four-legged friends. If any spare time is left, I enjoy succumbing to my new hobby – gardening.
